Columbia, S.C. - For five innings it was a pitcher's duel any baseball fan would have enjoyed.  But when it was all said and done Clemson blasted South Carolina 12-2 in the team's final meeting of the season at Carolina Stadium.

South Carolina starting pitcher Adam Westmoreland retired the first 15 batters he faced before the Tigers got on the scoreboard in the sixth, scoring five runs in the inning.

Clemson starting pitcher Scott Weismann held South Carolina's hitters at bay, striking out 3 batters in four innings of work.  Matt Vaughn and Tomas Cruz came on in relief.  Vaughn got the win improving his overall record to 3-1.

Ben Paulsen and Kyle Parker each homered for the Tigers as Clemson improved to 28-14 on the year.  South Carolina drops to 27-15 on the season.

The two teams split this season's four-game series at two games apiece.  The Gamecocks are back in action this weekend at Florida.  Clemson hosts No. 4 Georgia Tech this weekend.
