It's been more than a week since a tornado ripped through Aiken County destroying homes in its path. Some folks are having to rebuild from scratch.
More than a week ago, the storm ripped through Lahronda Robinson's Aiken County home. The wicked weather left her wondering if her mother and sister were okay.
"I was so scared," said Robinson. "I just started crying, cause I was so scared. I didn't know what was going on with them."
Robinson rushed home to check on her family, but heavy damage blocked her from reaching them.
"The rescue workers told us to leave the area because the power lines were down," said Robinson.
The house where they once lived, was completely destroyed.
"I was just imagining if me and my children were there, what would have happened?" asked Robinson.
The Robinsons may have lost their home, but they still have each other.
"I think we will become a whole lot closer than we were before," said Robinson. "We are going to patch things up."
Now they will pick up the pieces together, and rebuild their lives after the storm.
The American Red Cross is meeting with families who lost their homes, like the Robinsons, to help them recover from the damaging storms.
