WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) -- Wanted: Computer hackers.
The government wants to put them to work securing the nation's computer networks.
Administration officials say the U.S. hasn't kept pace with technological innovations to protect against hackers, criminals and spies.
A recent White House review found detailed plans for floods, fires and planes drifting into protected airspace, but not for a major computer attack.
General Dynamics Information Technology put out an ad last month on behalf of the Homeland Security Department seeking someone who can "think like the bad guy."
It said applicants must understand hackers' tools and tactics and be able to analyze Internet traffic and identify vulnerabilities in the federal systems.
The Pentagon plans to increase the number of cyberexperts it can train each year from 80 to 250 by 2011.
