(AP) -- ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say windows were broken in five Orangeburg churches over the Easter weekend, bringing the number of church vandalism reports in the area to 22 in the past six months.
The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reports the damaged churches have all been within about three miles of each other.
Police haven't been able to determine a pattern or motive for the vandalism, which has targeted a number of denominations.
Northside Baptist Church has been vandalized four times in the past six months. Pastor Shane Stutzman says it is frustrating, but the incidents show churches need to open their hearts to people and try to stop the evil in the world.
