USC dumps Auburn with strong pitching

Columbia, S.C. - South Carolina pitcher Sam Dyson threw his first career complete game Friday in an 8-3 win over Auburn at Carolina Stadium.  Dyson also tied a career-high with eight strikeouts in game one of the three-game SEC series.

Dyson got better as the game went on, notching his first strikeout in the the fourth inning.  He retired the last nine batters he faced and allowed just three runs on six hits while walking just one batter.  Dyson improves to 6-2 on the year.

South Carolina improves to 25-13 overall and 8-8 in the SEC while the loss drops Auburn to 24-14 and 7-9 in conference play.
