OSLO (AP) -- Police say Tamil protesters have entered the Sri Lankan Embassy in Oslo, smashing windows and destroying office equipment.

No casualties were immediately reported.

Police spokesman Tor Groettum says about 100 demonstrators joined Sunday's protest of the treatment of Sri Lanka's treatment of its ethnic minority Tamils during a military offensive against Tamil Tiger rebels.

Groettum says the demonstrators went on a rampage before police intervened.

He says police couldn't immediately identify who had been responsible for the damage.

No arrests were made.

On Sunday, Sri Lanka's leader ordered a two-day suspension of the offensive against the rebels to enable tens of thousands of trapped civilians to leave the war zone in the north.
