(AP) -- SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- A Gaffney man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after admitting he shot and killed a college student during a robbery last year.
Prosecutors told the Herald-Journal of Spartanburg that 22-year-old Justin Byers forced his way into an apartment in January 2008, then shot 24-year-old Furman Armstrong to death.
Authorities say Byers also robbed Armstrong's brother.
Three co-defendants also face charges in the killing.
