Columbia, S.C. - South Carolina pounded out 12 hits Wednesday beating Charleston Southern 6-4.

Junior first baseman Nick Ebert went 2-for-4, and hit his first career home run as well as two RBI.  Junior outfielder DeAngelo Mack added three hits as well as the No. 18 Gamecocks notched their sixth win of the season.  South Carolina is off to a 6-0 start for the first time since 2005.

The  Gamecocks  used  a  predetermined  split  with  five  pitchers  seeing  action  including  starting  pitcher  Jay  Brown.  The right-hander saw his first action on the mound since the early part of the 2007 season, earning his first win of the year as he allowed just one run on three hits in 4.1 innings of work.
