COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- The jobless worker data at the heart of a conflict between South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford and the Employment Security Commission is heading to the state Commerce Department to be analyzed.
Sanford's office released a copy of an agreement Friday that was drawn up to let Commerce use the information in its efforts to create jobs. It also requires the Employment Security Commission to continue supplying data on education and other background information on people claiming unemployment benefits.
Sanford temporarily refused to OK federal loan requests needed to cover jobless checks in December amid a dispute over that data. Sanford last month said he'd fire the Employment Security Commission's three members if they didn't turn over the information.
