NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (AP) -- More than 1,000 veterans and their sweethearts are expected to attend a Valentine's Day concert at the federal complex at the old Charleston Naval Base.
The concert, featuring performances by the Tams and the Embers, is one of three being held nationwide and sponsored by a group known as Help Hospitalized Veterans. It is also being sponsored by the Veterans Administration.
The idea is to pay tribute to the nation's veterans and increase awareness of the needs of hospitalized vets.
The Saturday night event is being held at Sterett Hall at the old Charleston Naval Base.
