Laura's tea room, Ridgeway, SC.
The sound of laughter and freshly brewed tea fills Laura's tea room.
"Once you come, you'll come back. We find that so often that two will come and the next week those two will come but there will be four," said Allen.
The Thomas Company and Laura's tea room sits in the heart of downtown Ridgeway just off Highway 34.
The building has been there since 1885 and owner Carol Allen helped open the tea room in July 2008.
"It's bringing a lot of people up to this area because it is such a quaint little town," said Allen.
The tea room, named after Laura Thomas was the last Thomas to run the store and a former Mayor of Ridgeway.
The history is something Allen takes pride in.
"When we see someone that knew her and they say "ahh, Laura would love this!, it's a big compliment," said Allen.
Fresh delectables and an always full tea cup are what you should expect.
It's something that keeps Susan Buchanan coming back, by herself and with friends.
"You go into one of the fru-fur establishments and not feel comfortable, but this is just not like that," said Buchanan.
The Thomas Company and Laura's tea room is known for their sweet treats and anything but the ordinary gifts.
If indulging on sweets and filling up on tea isn't quite your "cup of tea", visit downstairs for a history lesson from the 1900s.
"They're going to pamper you and it's like going to a tea party," said Buchanan.
And going to a tea party is what Allen calls a once in a lifetime experience.
