TAYLORS, S.C. (AP) -- Greenville County police say a man suspected of drunken driving in South Carolina has died in a car crash after a brief police chase.

Deputy coroner Kent Dill told The Greenville News that James Clinton Brooks died Wednesday night after his car collided with an SUV in Taylors.

Sheriff's spokesman Michael Hildebrand says two people in the other car were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Hildebrand says a deputy was trying to stop the car when the driver pulled off. Hildebrand says the chase lasted about 25 seconds before the cars collided.
