Columbia City Council considers rental property ordinance

The Columbia City Council proposal to require rental property owners to obtain business licenses, is controversial.  Those who support it, say it will reduce problems often associated with absentee landlords.  Those who oppose it say it's an unnecessary fee which in the current economy, is a bit hard to swallow.
