One of the most sought after quarterback prospects in the country will be wearing Clemson orange next season. Phoebus High School quarterback Tajh Boyd announced Tuesday afternoon he has committed to the Tigers.
The Hampton, Virginia native held a press conference at the school Tuesday. He plans to make him commitment official on Feb. 4, which is the first day recruits can sign their letters-of-intent.
Boyd put three hats in front of him during the news conference, one from Ohio State, one from Clemson and one from Oregon. After a short opening statement Boyd put the Clemson hat on his head.
The quarterback recently won offensive MVP honors in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on January 3.
Boyd still has another hurdle in front him. He is set to undergo surgery for a torn ACL, but is hopeful he will be ready to go in time for August practice.
