Nightclub shooting kills one

Lee County Sheriff's Department is investigating an early morning shooting.

It happened Friday morning around 2:15 at BJ's Nightclub on Red Top Road.

Investigators say earlier in the night a confrontation started.

Someone soon opened fire inside the nightclub.

Several people were hit including 24 year old Laverne Toney. 

The victim was taken to Tuomey Hospital in Sumter where he later died.

Three other people were hit but are expected to be okay.

Deputies are questioning several witnesses and have a person of interest.
