PICKENS, S.C. (AP) -- The grandmother and father of a Pickens County toddler who died earlier this year from a drug overdose have been indicted in connection with the boy's death.

Court documents released Wednesday show 52-year-old Donna Lynn Phillips is charged with homicide by child abuse. Her son, 24-year-old Jamie Edward Morris, faces a charge of aiding and abetting homicide by child abuse.

Pickens County Coroner Jim Mahanes says 22-month-old Jaidon Morris died of a hydrocodone overdose on March 17. Police say the toddler had been released from foster care just days before he died.

Phillips and Morris have not been arrested, and it was not immediately clear if either had attorneys. There was no answer at a home number listed under both names.

Phillips told WHNS-TV she and her son are innocent.
