CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- You can call it a moveable national historic landmark.
The schooner Roseway, built 83 years ago, is visiting Charleston through Friday. The schooner is used for educational programs of the World Ocean School based in Maine and is open to the public for free tours.
It's on its way to the Virgin Islands for the winter.
The schooner, designated a national landmark, was built in 1925 after a newspaper in Halifax, Nova Scotia, challenged the fishermen of Gloucester, Mass., to a race. Just last month, the Roseway won her class in the Fisherman's Cup held off Provincetown, Mass.
