It's business as usual for the husband and wife team and Three Fountains Family Dental and with candy craving kids on the hunt this Halloween, it might be time to take a look inside their mouths.
Dr. Peter Stoltz has worked in dentistry for 24 years and says it's a great time to talk about oral health with his patients.
"We emphasize preventative care. With Halloween here and tooth decay, oral hygiene is important. We recommend brushing 2 or 3 times a day," said Stoltz.
Stoltz says chocolate is better than sticky sweets because chocolate won't stick to your teeth.
"What we do see is broken teeth- someone bites into something they're not supposed to. You want to avoid anything that's going to adhere to your teeth," said Stoltz.
Gummy bears and laffy taffy are some of the favorites children will grab Friday, but it's the sticky stuff that Stoltz says will be a problem.
"Healthy alternatives like your fruits and vegetables are good. When you have a healthy smile, you're more outgoing and confident. Oral health is very, very important," said Stoltz.
Great tips to make sure you and your teeth have a spooky, yet smiling Halloween.
