The Highway Patrol reported a fatal early morning accident in Lexington County.

Reports say the accident happened around 2:30 Thursday morning in the westbound lane of Interstate 20 at mile marker 60 near Highway 378.

Thirty-six-year-old Ronald Gaskill Jr. of Kershaw was killed after his vehicle veered off the right side of the road, hit a guardrail and continued going to the right up the roadside embankment.

Gaskill was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway Patrol will continue the investigation.
