Ginny Waller is a sexual assault survivor and it was through her experiences that she got involved with Sexual Trauma Services.
"I think the first step is that it's a personal decision to reach out. We welcome anyone who's ready to take that step in their lives," said Waller.
Sexual Trauma Services, located on Forest Drive, has been in Columbia for 25 years. As they celebrate this milestone, Waller wants people to know that there is help available.
"In our crisis hotline, we serve men, women, children, adults, all races and denominations," said Waller.
Although the road to recovery is a hard one, Waller hopes anyone who needs help will take advantage of their free services.
Richland, Lexington and Newberry counties will celebrate 25 years Tuesday, October 28 at 7 p.m. at the Hall at Canal and Senate (formerly Sterling Garden Center).
There will be a live auction and community leaders will be in attendance as guest speakers. Tickets are $50 and include dinner.
