MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) -- Cypress Gardens can be a bit eerie at night with its black water swamp and trails winding beneath towering trees. Even more so this weekend.
This Friday and Saturday the publicly owned gardens between Charleston and Moncks Corner will celebrate Halloween with haunted trails and a haunted boat ride through black water lagoons.
Visitors to the gardens, where scenes for the movie The Patriot were filmed, are being warned the trail and boat ride are not for the young or the weak of heart.
For those with less-stout hearts, the evenings will also offer such things as a storyteller, marshmallow roast and a lighted pumpkin trail.
