A Richland County woman is in custody after forcing her way inside an apartment Wednesday morning.

Thirty-year-old Anita Renia Jones-Bell turned herself in to authorities at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. She faces several charges.

According to authorities, Jones-Bell knocked on the door of a Battleford Road apartment and shoved her way inside. Jones-Bell allegedly pistol-whipped the woman who answered the door, went to the bedroom and kicked the door open.

Jones-Bell got into a fight with a man who was in the bedroom and began firing several shots. The man escaped through the bedroom window. Jones-Bell left the scene on foot.

The male victim was able to provide information to authorities about Jones-Bell, who is an acquaintance of his.

Both victims were treated at the scene and released.
