A 28-year-old Rembert man was arrested Friday and charged with murder. 

Authorities say that George Ralph Lindsay Jr. shot and killed Lorenzo Smallwood with a .32-caliber handgun Thursday after the two had an argument. The incident happened in the 4800 block of Cannery Road in Dalzell.

Lindsay fled the scene, but several hours later turned himself in to Sumter County deputies.

Lindsay was transported to the Sumter Lee Regional Detention Center where he awaits a bond hearing.
