SUMTER, S.C. (AP) -- Sumter County Coroner Harvin Bullock may have lost the Democratic runoff for his job by more than 1,100 votes in June, but he is now back on the general election ballot as the only candidate.

The Item of Sumter reports that county Democrats certified Bullock to be their nominee Thursday, a few days after a judge ruled the nominee that won the primary didn't meet qualifications to be coroner.

There is no Republican candidate on the November ballot, so Bullock appears to be on his way to another four-year term.

Bullock got just 37 percent of the vote in losing to Shawn Ragin in the June runoff.

The newspaper says Ragin has been unavailable since the judge ruled against his qualifications.
