COLUMBIA (WACH) - A man accused of throwing a fire bomb into a window at the Department of Probation, Pardon and Parole Services on Gregg Street Wednesday morning has been arrested.

Columbia-Richland Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins announced in a Wednesday afternoon press conference that 25-year-old Joshua Lewis Sullivan has been arrested and charged with third degree arson, two counts of malicious injury to property, and use of an incendiary device.

"One good thing about it is there was not a lot of fire loadin that roomso it did minimum damage." Said Chief Aubrey Jenkins.  "Had it been a good load of fire in there then we could have had even more damage than we see here."

Authorities responded to the call around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday.  Lasheika Van Dyke an agent with the office arrived for work Wednesday and found a broken window.  Van Dyke called the fire department.

"My first reaction was to get the suspect." Said Van Dyke.

Division Chief Will Harrell said the some of the office chairs were damaged.  Harrell estimates the damage at $500.

Sullivan is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
