KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (AP) -- Two sea turtles are returning to the Atlantic Ocean after months of rehabilitation at the sea turtle hospital at the South Carolina Aquarium.
The turtles, a loggerhead and a green sea turtle, are being released Thursday at Beachwalker Park on Kiawah Island.
One of the turtles is Pier, a 60-pound juvenile loggerhead sea turtle caught by a fisherman at Folly Beach. The turtle was treated at the aquarium for a wound to its shell from an earlier shark bite.
The other turtle is Grover, a 9-pound juvenile green sea turtle.
Grover was found stunned on the beach in Cherry Grove near the North Carolina line last St. Patrick's Day. His treatment included antibiotics, vitamins, fluids and time spent in the sun.
