COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A man charged in the disappearance of a Columbia teenager is expected to appear in federal court.

Freddie Grant is scheduled to have a hearing on Wednesday. He is charged with having bullets and shotgun shells that he's not allowed to possess as a convicted felon.

The ammunition was found as authorities searched Grant's home earlier this year for evidence related to the disappearance of Gabbiee Swainson. Authorities say the 15-year-old girl was taken from her bed early the morning of Aug. 18, and Grant has been charged with kidnapping.

Grant's federal attorney says the search warrant used to discover the bullets isn't valid. John Delgado says authorities didn't give all relevant evidence to the judge and had said in court papers that the teen may have actually run away.
