COLUMBIA (WACH) — “No matter what it is, I want the truth to come out.”  The words of Elvia Swainson surrounding her daughter Gabbiee’s disappearance.

Elvia discovered that Gabbiee was missing when she arrived home from work on Saturday, August 18, beginning a search that has continued for three months.

In the days that followed her disappearance, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department named Freddie Grant as a suspect.  He was subsequently charged with kidnapping and additional federal ammunition charged was filed against Grant, who is being held in Lexington County.

“No parent wants to go through this,” Elvia Swainson says about her search for Gabbiee. “You wouldn’t wish this on your worst enemy.”  Swainson has given several interviews and appeared alongside Sheriff Leon Lott at press conferences and updates for the public, however, she has said little about Grant, saying “that’s not helping me find my child.”
