COLUMBIA (WACH) - Survivors and caregivers came out to the Statehouse Wednesday in recognition of Brain Injury Awareness Day.
This year's theme: anytime, anywhere, anyone - brain injuries do not discriminate.
"You don't plan to have a brain injury, but once it happens, it consumes your life," said Joyce Davis with the Brain Injury Association of South Carolina. "It's life changing; life altering."
March is Brain Injury Awareness Month.
