COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The South Carolina peanut board donated more than a thousand jars of peanut butter to the Harvest Hope Food Bank.

State commissioner of agriculture Hugh Weathers and SCPB president Richard Rentz presented the donation.

Officials with Certified SC Grown, a cooperative effort among producers, processors, wholesalers, retailers and the SC Department of Agriculture, say 1,024 jars of peanut butter is 16,000 servings to South Carolina families.

Officials say these partnerships are essential to making sure they can continue to provide for those suffering from hunger in around the state.
