COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Thousands will gather at the Statehouse this Wednesday for South Carolinians with lifelong disabilities.

It's the 24th year family members, and their service providers have come together in front of the Statehouse for Disability Advocacy Day

S.C. Partnership of Disability Organizations chair Margaret Moore-Williamson said Gov. Nikki Haley and the General Assembly have stepped up to support those with life-long disabilities, and they are thankful for that, however it's important to make sure that necessary services continue for those who are in need and on waiting lists.

Organizers say March 6 at the Statehouse is a way to show Legislators the faces of those who are affected by disabilities.

"We support each other, it doesn't matter what the disability is we're coming together for a common good. We want our legislatures to see us in numbers whether its the parent or the person with the disability or the caregiver," said Tanya Inabinet who is Vice Chair of the S.C. Partnership of Disability Organizations, and also a parent of a disabled young woman.
