COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Benedict College is asking for community votes as the school is in the running for a campus pride grant.
The historically black college is competing against other HBCUs in the Home Depot 2013 "Retool Your School" competition, which awards grants to the schools with the most votes and social media activity.
"Retool Your School" is a campus improvement grant designed to help HBCUs make lasting improvements to their campuses and facilities.
Fourteen grants will be given out in 2013. After votes online are calculated in addition to advisory board panel selections, the schools with the best campus improvement plans will win the grants.
Voting runs until April fifteenth for this contest. The winner will be announced May third.
