CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Women who live in the Charleston area have access to free breast cancer screenings this week.

The Belk mobile mammography center will set up at Belk's at Citadel Mall on Tuesday and Wednesday and at the Belk's in Mount Pleasant Towne Center on Friday and Saturday.

The 39-foot mobile screening center provides mammograms for free. Women over 40 with no previous cancer concerns and who have not had a mammogram in a year or more are eligible. They can call 855-655-2662 for an appointment.

Belk is the nation's largest privately held department store and has invested $6 million in the program.

The mobile screening center will provide screenings at 113 Belk stores in the Carolinas and Tennessee through next January.
