CONWAY, S.C. (AP) -- Bond has been set former state Rep. Thad Viers on charges he broke into his ex-girlfriend's home.

A judge Thursday set a $25,000 bond for the Myrtle Beach Republican on charges of first-degree burglary and petit larceny.

Authorities say the charges stem from the same case that led to Viers' January 2012 arrest. Police say the 34-year-old called, texted, emailed and showed up at his ex-girlfriend's home months after they broke up and didn't stop after police contacted him.

Viers also faces stalking and harassment charges. Prosecutors say cellphone tracking show he was in the area of the woman's home during the alleged burglary.

Viers quit the Legislature in March. Attorney Dylan Goff says his client is innocent.

If convicted of burglary, Viers faces at least 15 years in prison.
