CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- About 33,000 South Carolina motorists who renewed their vehicle registrations last month are still waiting for registration stickers for their license plates.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports that that motorists who renewed on Dec. 22 or later have been affected.

Department of Motor Vehicles spokeswoman Beth Parks says a vendor from Connecticut was late in delivering the materials needed to make the new stickers. She says the department is working to get the stickers out.

Motorists can go to their nearest DMV office to renew. There's a 30-day grace period for renewal. Parks says if the stickers are not in by then, law enforcement will be notified so motorists won't get tickets.
