COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Palmetto Health Childrens Hospital and Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative teamed up Thursday to help with Christmas.

Children staying at the hospital got a chance to pick out a gift to give to loved ones with Operation Santa.

Santa Claus was also present to take any requests from the children.

Organizers say this gives kids the chance to put their mark on Christmas when they are not able to go out and buy a gift for someone else.

"We really enjoy being able to come here and bring some of the Christmas spirit to the kids who may not be able to get it since they are in the hospital," said Emily Stowe, Pulbic Relations Coordinator for Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative.

Volunteers helped the children wrap the presents to give to their loved ones.
