CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- A former nursing home employee is accused of assaulting and kissing a 101-year-old man in his care.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports (http://bit.ly/W5fXla ) that 44-year-old Deasmond Kimbrough of North Charleston is charged with abuse of a vulnerable adult regarding a Dec. 6 incident captured on a hidden camera.

According to a police report, Jesse Lee Wood's granddaughter hired a private investigator after he complained of being abused at Mount Pleasant Manor in North Charleston.

Their attorney Matthew Yelverton says the video shows Wood being hit, shaken, and grabbed, as he tries to defend himself. The video also shows him being kissed on the cheek.

Maj. Stan Gragg says Kimbrough surrendered Monday. Kimbrough is a certified nursing assistant.

His attorney John Thompson says Kimbrough has fully cooperated with authorities.
