MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- A Myrtle Beach man has been charged with reckless homicide and hit and run after a fatal crash.

Police say 28-year-old Evgeny Pavlovich Bolotov was driving in on U.S. Highway 501 in Myrtle Beach early Saturday morning when he ran a red light. Another vehicle hit his car on the passenger side.

Horry County Coroner Robert Edge says 26-year-old Sergey Kharlamov was in the car with Bolotov and was killed in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Bolotov fled the scene and was later arrested at his home. It wasn't known if he had an attorney.
