MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities have charged a registered nurse with assault and battery in the October death of a North Myrtle Beach radio personality.

Authorities say 53-year-old Janet Kupka has been charged with giving too much medicine to Bill Norman after he was admitted to the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in October to treatment of a stroke.

Authorities began investigating Norman's death after receiving a report from hospital officials that the 63-year-old announcer may have been overmedicated.

Kupka was charged Wednesday and later released on a $20,000 bond. She would not talk about the case. The Norman family also would not comment.

Norman was the owner of WNMB-AM 900 in North Myrtle Beach and co-owner of WVCO-FM 94.9 "The Surf."
