COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Councilman Moe Baddourah hosted "Patriotic Monday" to benefit MIRCI.

The event was held Monday evening at Moe's Grapevine Italian Restaurant to raise money for the Mental Illness Recovery Center (MIRCI) and its housing and homeless programs.

Organizers say it was an event for everyone regardless of political affiliation.

There was a buffet and WACH Fox's Tyler Ryan was on hand to help raise money to get people back on their feet.

"Everyone is celebrating their freedom at the same time, giving back to an organization that helps build our community," said Julie Ann Avin, Director of MIRCI.

You can also donate online on their website.
