LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) -- The former town administrator in Gaston has pleaded guilty to taking money and supplies from the town for her own use.

The State newspaper reported  that 54-year-old Jennifer Poole pleaded guilty in Lexington on Monday to felony breach of trust with fraudulent intent of more than $5,000.

Poole had been scheduled to go on trial later this month.

Poole's daughter, Jessica, was the former court clerk. She pleaded guilty earlier this month to felony breach of trust.

Former Mayor Larry Sharpe's trial on felony breach of trust is scheduled Oct. 29.

Prosecutor Robert Elam says problems with the town's finances were discovered when Poole retired in 2007.

The Pooles face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 when they are sentenced later.
