COLUMBIA (WACH)- Another man has been arrested  in connection to a September shooting at a McDonald's restaurant at the corner of Two Notch and Beltline in Columbia.

The Columbia Police Chief Department announced the arrest of a man they say shot into a crowd at a local McDonald’s restaurant last weekend.Torance Lamar Peoples, 20, is charged with Seven Counts of Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Violent Crime and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Conveyance.

Peoples was arrested yesterday morning at the Days Inn located on Parklane Road by CPD and members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force.

Terrell Lamont Bethel, 23, is charged with Seven Counts of Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime, Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Conveyance, Drug Possession and Failure to Stop on Police Command.

According to Columbia Police, September 15, 2012, shortly after 9:00 p.m., Peoples and Bethel fired a gun into a crowd at the McDonald’s restaurant located at the corner of  Two Notch Road and Beltline Boulevard.  Preliminary information suggests that Peoples and Bethel were a part of at least two groups that were arguing in the parking lot.

Three people were hit by bullets. A man was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead by medical staff.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office has previously released the victim’s name.

The other victims were shot in the arm and hip.

It is believed that the groups were involved in a verbal and physical altercation that resulted in a shooting.

CPD continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

More arrests are pending.
