COLUMBIA (WACH) -The 4800 block of Broad River Road is closed after a deadly morning accident.
The crash happened on the Broad River Road bridge, which has been under construction. Columbia Police was called to the scene and rerouted traffic.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says Dawnyelle Sharpe, 28, was driving a Toyota Corolla that collided with another vehicle near Broad River and River Hill Circle. Moments later the car Sharpe was driving collided with a second vehicle on the bridge. Sharpe died at the scene.
According to Watts, two passenters from Sharpe's vehicle and occupants of the other two vehicles were transported to a local hospital.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating.
