ORANGEBURG, SC (WACH) - A 24-year-old Bowman man is now facing a murder charge in connection with an attempted robbery and shooting, according to the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says charges against Terrance Shawan Johnson have been upgraded after the death of one of the male shooting victims.
According to Ravenell, Johnson is also known as "Gunner."
"Johnson is also facing two attempted murder charges and a warrant for possession of a weapon during a violent crime," said Ravenell.
Authorities believe Johnson is no longer in the Orangeburg area, but he is possibly hiding in Columbia.
Officials say the shooting that occurred on Maedrine Street the night of September 10 in Orangeburg is believed to be the result of someone purchasing bad crack cocaine, then returning where they made the purchase to rob the dealer.
