BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (AP) -- The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is taking appointments for motorcycle and passenger vehicle tests in its offices across the state.

DMV spokeswoman Beth Parks says appointments are available in all 67 offices Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. starting Sept. 24.

Parks says customers may call the office where they want to take the test and leave a message with their name and telephone number. Staff will return the call to confirm an appointment.

Customers may walk in to take the tests from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., but not in the afternoon unless a cancellation occurs.

The tests can take up to 30 minutes. The DMV began making appointments for the tests in 12 of its largest offices in May.
