HOPKINS (WACH) – Community members in lower Richland County are excited to celebrate years of culture, food and fun with the Congaree Swampfest.

The annual weekend event, benefitting the Southeast Rural Community Outreach, begins on October 5, with a evening of “BBQ, Blues, and Jazz,” at the Harriet Barber House on Barberville Loop in Hopkins.  Tickets for the event are $15.00 with proceeds going to the SERCO’s educational component.

An array of artists, carnival rides, youth art, food vendors and more will highlight day two of the event on Saturday, October 6 at the Congaree National Park near Old Mount Moriah.  Admission for the day long festival is free, and includes free parking.

A full schedule of events can be found at the parks website, and the official SwampFest website.  You can also call 864-205-0767 for more details.
