Beaufort County sheriff’s deputies are reporting that an 8-year-old Hilton Head boy died after she was shot while playing in the front yard of his home.
HILTON HEAD, S.C. (WACH/AP)—Beaufort County sheriff’s deputies are reporting that an 8-year-old Hilton Head boy died after she was shot while playing in the front yard of his home.
According to the authorities, Khalil Singleton was playing outside when shots were fired at about 5:00 pm Saturday. When emergency personnel arrived, they found the boy lying in the front yard. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The sheriff’s department is reporting that two men 19-year-old Aaron Young Jr. and his father, 36-year-old Aaron Young Sr., have been charged with discharging a firearm into another man’s vehicle that was parked in the area that Singleton was playing.
The investigation continues into the incident.
