ELGIN, S.C. (WACH / AP) -- It has been more than two weeks since 15-year-old Gabbiee Swainson was last seen, but the community continues to hold out hope she will be found alive.

Dozens of concerned residents gathered at Elgin Town Hall Sunday evening for a vigil for Gabbiee.

They continue to pray for the missing teens safe return.

Gabbiee Swainson vanished from her bedroom early August 18.

Richland County deputies have arrested 52-year-old Freddie Grant in the case. Sheriff Leon Lott says Grant is a career criminal.

Lott says officers are awaiting DNA tests on items found in Grant's car.

Investigators say they found blood and hair on duct tape at Grant’s house in Elgin. They also say Grant is not  cooperating with authorities.

Grant's lawyers have filed a request to stop Lott from talking about the case.

Lott says Grant knows where the girl is.
