COLUMBIA (WACH) - A teen accused of committing several violent crimes including armed robbery has been arrested, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Chief Randy Scott announced Tuesday that Devanta Boyd, 19, is charged with attempted murder, two counts of armed robbery, carjacking, grand larceny, criminal conspiracy and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Boyd is accused of robbing pizza delivery employees at gunpoint while at the Brook Pines Apartment complex on June 30 and July 10, according to Scott. In both incidents the suspects involved drove away in the robbery victim's car.

Boyd is also accused of shooting a man in his arm at a home on Regency Park Drive on July 13. Police believe that an argument with neighbors may have sparked the shooting, but the incident is under investigation.

Authorities say one juvenile was arrested in connection with the June 30 armed robbery. A second juvenile was arrested after the July 13 shooting and is also charged in the July 10 armed robbers.
