COLUMBIA (WACH) - Google is not an official sponsor of the London 2012 Olympic Games, but they have continued to captivate web users with sports-related "Google Doodles" since the opening ceremonies.

The search engine's graphics never directly say "London 2012," or even reference the Olympic games, but the company is still able to connect with what the world is currently interested in.

The doodles may have caused some confusion about Google as an official sponsor.

According to M&M Global, a survey carried out by Toluna showed that 16 percent  of consumers incorrectly cited Google as an official sponsor of the 2012 Olympic games.

One of the most popular Google Doodles posted during the Olympic games has been the interactive hurdles graphic.

Facebook users are raving about the hurdle game featured on Google's homepage on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

"Literally just spent 20 minutes playing the little hurdle game on Google. Is this real life?" said Trey Ervin.

The interactive graphic puts track and field at the users fingertips.

Web users can use the arrow keys on their keyboard to make the track star run and jump over hurdles. The hurdles will fall if the user does not make the interactive athlete jump soon enough. A time and gold star is awarded at the end of the race.

"Google has really out done themselves today," said Vanessa Jennings.

For those who cannot get enough of the clever graphics, there is a Google Doodle store.
